“Emily Quirk is a photographer born & raised & based in Nashville, Tennessee, working across music, architecture, and hospitality. With over a decade behind the lens, her portrait and documentary work captures iconic moments and the natural essence of her subjects.

Quirk balances her work fluidly between digital and analog formats, including 35mm and medium format film, bringing a warmth and timeless sensibility to each frame.

Quirk has built a reputation photographing the world of live music—from intimate backstage moments to portraits of country music’s leading artists, to the raw energy of shows and festivals of all sizes. She immerses herself in each moment with a strong documentary instinct and an intuitive sense of timing as she moves seamlessly between environments. Her portfolio notably includes her years working with Apple Music.

Her work is rooted in observation and a strong sense of place, shaped by years spent documenting live environments and translating that instinct into the built world. She approaches each space with a documentary eye and an intuitive sense of timing—capturing not only how a space looks, but how it feels to move through it.

More recently, Quirk has expanded her focus toward architectural, interior, and hospitality photography, drawn to spaces where design, landscape, and the human experience coexist. She is particularly inspired by intentionally designed hotels, desert landscapes, and environments that invite a slower rhythm of living — where natural light dances across a room and atmosphere breathes as a central character in the narrative.

Quirk’s perspective has been shaped by time spent living in the vibrant cultural landscape of New Orleans, the architectural grandeur of Chicago, and the lush musical heartland of Nashville, where she calls home. These places have cultivated a deep appreciation for the character of place. From Tennessee’s quiet country back roads to the wide-open desert skies of West Texas and the coastal sunlight of southern Italy, she approaches each destination with a documentarian’s eye and a diarist’s sensibility.

Ever curious about the world around her, Quirk’s perspective is shaped as much outside of assignments as within them — drawn to long road trips, swimming in any body of water she can find, and slow mornings that often become the foundation of her photography and writing. She approaches her work and life with a documentary eye and a strong sense of presence — attentive and attuned to the beauty of a moment as it unfolds.”
