Looking Back on 2017

HELLO! 2017 is finally behind us, and 2018 is launching full speed ahead! I'm extremely excited about what this year holds - it feels like a truly fresh beginning with so much potential and opportunity for what's in store. There were numerous photo highlights the latter half of 2017 for me that I never brought to light through my personal site, so I'm excited to now share these collectively.

For my first throwback, I'm going to wild out with the time The Wall Street Journal reached out to us at Original Fuzz about our experience with La Croix. WHAT?! We're regarded as experts on our favorite fruity, bubbly water and we (somehow) managed to get our team's faces published in the highly esteemed publication with one of my photos.

POSIDRAG!

Wow, what an insane couple weeks it's been! Photos and life and work and all the like, somewhere in the midst of it all I had a little moment and now have a piece in this very dope new online zine called POSIDRAG that I want you to check out, along with all the other submissions! Our theme was SNACKS!

"We decided to call it POSIDRAG - it's a made up word! In my opinion it means something like ying/yang - but open to interpretation."

Throwin' It Back: Twin Peaks + Together Pangea in Nashville

DECEMBER 14 2016

Whether or not this was a chilly December evening, I'll never fully remember, as I quickly basked in the warmth of the chaos of the family-style-reunion that blossomed as Together Pangea (LA) and Twin Peaks (Chicago) rolled into Nashville's Exit-In that afternoon. Bands, photographers, and friends alike, all together in one place - including members of White Reaper, NE-HI, Cage the Elephant, Daddy Issues, and Chrome Pony, and photographers CJ Harvey, Kelsey Reckling, Jesse Fox, (and myself!), all present, documenting throughout the night. One truly never to be forgotten.

Temples, Live at Grimey's for Original Fuzz

Back in February, Temples was days away from the release of their new album Volcano when they made a pit-stop in Nashville to play an in-store performance at Grimey's Records as part of promo for the record. We at Original Fuzz were able to grab a few minutes of an interview with them, and photos from the show are here!

The Black Angels and A Place To Bury Strangers

On April 26, A Place To Bury Strangers and The Black Angels kicked off the Death March Tour together in Nashville at The Basement East, surrounding the release of The Black Angels' new album Death Song. It was a night of psychedelia with explosive, swooning, and haunting guitars, plus a three hour light show of lasers, projections, and strobes, both beautiful and at times seizure-inducing. I'm still seeing the rainbows of color bouncing through the thickest walls of fog.

HI & NE-HI

Hello, hello, to all! It's been a while. Life's been busy, full, and fast-paced in the realm that exists beyond this screen. Where here it may appear that I've been absent, I assure you that's not how I've been living.

I'm preparing to share with you all I've been working on these past ~8 months. Multiple tours across the United States, studio and day shoots with artists, the current state of political activism, visual work for Original Fuzz, a week of South By Southwest, many, many shows back home in Nashville, TN (where I'm located once again), and so much more. 

Tonight, I want to bring it back to the beginning of this year, in January, with Ne-Hi from Chicago, Illinois, when they rolled through Nashville to play The High Watt. Tonight, they'll be doing this once again, and I hope you'll join me there! 8pm, with FACS and Date Night
